September 13, 2008 - “Project Irrawady Delta Bound” update

With the help of over 50 volunteers, largely members of the Arizona Burmese Community, we were able to load the shipping container with medical supplies and equipment (estimate values over US$400,000) in under five hours. This would not have been possible were it not for the excellent turnout. We are now a step closer to achieving our ultimate goal of distributing the medical supplies and equipment to needy hospitals, healthcare facilities and clinics throughout the Delta region and MBRO thanks all those who have helped us get this far. The container is set to sail on September 19th and is expected to arrive at Yangon Port by the end of October.
